Spring Sing 2025 Marks 20 Years of DBU Tradition

Each year, DBU's Greek Life organizations bring their creativity to the stage in Spring Sing, a campus tradition that began in 2005. Participating groups are challenged to craft original performances that blend live singing, acting, and choreography into one cohesive and entertaining show.

This year marked the 20th anniversary of Spring Sing, and the celebration was one to remember. With overwhelming student interest and high-ticket demand, DBU once again hosted two performances: a matinee preliminary competition followed by a high-energy evening finals showcase featuring the top six groups.
Friday night kicked off with an all-night rehearsal where each organization had the chance to perform twice on stage—complete with lighting, props, and costumes. Though the night ran late, it was filled with laughter and unforgettable moments as students cheered one another on and bonded with their teams.
Rho Lambda Chi stood out with their inventive rendition of The Greatest Showman, highlighting their creativity and originality, and Alpha Delta Kappa lit up the stage with a colorful and heartfelt adaptation of The Lorax, capturing its whimsical charm and powerful message.

After all the performances, the top six organizations to advance to the finals were Rho Lambda Chi, Sigma Chi Eta, Delta Theta, Chi Theta Alpha, Zeta Chi, and Pi Theta Tau. The competition was fierce, and the judges had the difficult task of selecting the winners. Ultimately, Rho Lambda Chi took home first place, Sigma Chi Eta earned second, and Pi Theta Tau rounded out the top three with third place.

Wayne Briggs, Director of Student Life, reflected on the significance of the event: "This year's show was the culmination of 20 incredible years of hard work and innovation from DBU students. Few people get the chance to see what all goes into bringing a Spring Sing show to life, and few understand the diligence and sacrifices of our Greek Life students to make this production a success. I was blown away by the level of talent, creativity, and passion that each of the groups displayed in their performances, and I'm incredibly proud of Rho Lambda Chi for truly making a name for themselves at Spring Sing! Now, it's time to see how we can raise the bar even higher!"
Spring Sing 2025 was a brilliant showcase of creativity, collaboration, and school spirit, embodying the heart of DBU's tradition over the past 20 years. It's a testament to the talent and dedication of our students, and a reminder of the powerful memories we continue to create together on the Hill. Here's to many more years of music, community, and unforgettable moments to come!
